History of Quartet ,,Nota”
The Georgian pop music, namely such genres like ‘Kalakuri’, folklore, as well as styled instrumental and vocal works have been the focus of musical groups for decades, and the improvement of this genre has concerned various intelligent and musically gifted ones in Batumi and throughout Georgia.
Year of 2000 was not any different, when three young women Nino Paghava, Natia Tsenteradze, and Natia Klarjeishvili, the students of Batumi Z.Paliashvili State Conservatory, Faculty of Chorus and Conducting, formed a vocal group Nota. Ever since trio Nota has become an active promoter of this beautiful piece of the Georgian culture outside Georgia and endeavored for the perfection of the genre.
The winning at the Students Days 2002 in artistic performance won the President’s congratulations for the trio.
In 2003 Nota received a diploma and presents at an international festival in Bulgaria.
In 2003 in Kartal Festival (Turkey), the trio was awarded a diploma and received a status of an award-winner.
In 2007 Nota joined the Musical Center.
In 2009 another member joined Nota, and thus, it changed the name and became a a quartet Nota comprising of Nino Paghava, Natia Tsenteradze, Lela Dolidze, and Shoveli Gugeshashvili. Besik Berdzenishvilis is the concertmeister.
2008 was marked with the Nota participating in International Festival in Bulgaria Sea and Memories, where it received a diploma for the best artistic performance, as well as the invitation to participate the following year.
The second performance in 2009 won them the first prize at the International Festival in Bulgaria where Nota was also received a financial award and a status of the winner.
In 2010 the quartet was invited to Istanbul International Festival where it was awarded a diploma and financial prize.
In 2011 they sang at Rose Festivl the Bulgarian town Karlovo, and also participated in the national celebration Koprivshtitsa 2011 where their singing was awarded a diploma and financial prize.
The quartet Nota is actively involved in all cultural events in Batumi and Ajara, and so far it has become one of the beloved performers.
