In 2004 State Musical Center was founded in Batumi which included Batumi State Symphony Orchestra, Batumi State Cappella, Ballet troup of State Theatre of Batumi Opera and Ballet, Children and Youth Music Theatre. In 2007 (26/12/2007 Decision N95 of Government of Ajara AR) reorganization was carried out in Batumi State Musical Cemntre and in result Opera Studio of Z. Anjaparidze and quartet “NOTA” joined Musical center.
From 2008 name of Children and Youth Music Theatre was changed and currently its name is Musical Theatre of Youth.
In 2011 Batumi State Musical Centre was reconstructed. Architecture of building belongs to Vakhtang Khmaladze. Centre has a hall with modern equipment with 1100 Spanish armchairs and big Spanish chandelier; there is an exhibition space on the third floor, a place where pop and jazz concerts can be held.
Opening of specially reconstructed building was held by premier of ,,Keto and Kote” performance, performance which was presented by Nika Memanishvili with new arrangement of Viktor Dolidze opera and Archil Kereselidze musical. Tamar Kvesitadze is author of decorations and costumes, director Davit Doiashvili.
